The range of qualifications and credentials in Europe and beyond is constantly changing to increase flexibility and enable learners to transfer learning across different settings: education and training institutions, work, leisure, and home. The supply of micro-credentials and short training courses that transcend the boundaries of most national education systems is growing rapidly in Europe and around the world. Policymakers, educators, and teachers see micro-credentials as an innovation that can be used in a variety of ways and offer a wide range of benefits\u2014a kind of universal solution to problems in education and the labor market\u2014and some have begun to integrate micro-credentials into existing practices and policy initiatives. But can microcredentials improve the lifelong learning and employability of those who use them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
