Blue Book traineeship opens to graduates from vocational education and training

Europos Komisija plečia galimybes profesinio mokymo absolventams – nuo šiol jie galės pretenduoti į Europos Komisijos Blue Book Traineeship Programme, which has until now been primarily open to university graduates. The updated rules will apply from the traineeship session starting in March 2027, with applications open from 22 July to 4 September 2026.

The new rules recognise the value of different learning pathways and aim to ensure that the European Commission’s traineeship programme better reflects Europe’s diverse talent pool. Up to 100 traineeship places in each session are planned to be allocated to VET graduates.

The Blue Book Traineeship is the European Commission’s flagship traineeship programme, attracting around 36,000 applications each year and offering nearly 2,000 paid traineeship placements at the European Commission, the European External Action Service (EEAS), and other EU institutions and agencies. The programme gives participants the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into European Union policymaking, work in an international environment, and acquire valuable professional experience.
