Cedefop launches a call for applications for the position ofExpert in Research and Policy Analysis -(Temporary Agent, AD 5 grade). Applications can be submitted until 21 May 2026 (13:00 Greek time).
This position is offered within Cedefop’s VET and Skills Department,VET and Skillswhich works on the analysis of European VET policy, skills forecasting, and the interaction between education and the labour market.
Duties and responsibilities:
The selected expert will contribute to Cedefop’s work, which aims to provide evidence-based insights and recommendations for European Union and national vocational education and training (VET) policy development.
The main tasks will include:
Research and policy analysis:
- analyse trends in vocational education and training (VET) and skills development, and provide insights to support policy-making;
- apply quantitative and qualitative research methods and develop analytical models;
- conduct interviews, surveys, case studies and other research activities;
- participate in capacity-building and peer-learning activities.
Knowledge dissemination and communication:
- prepare analytical reports, policy briefs, publications and other knowledge products;
- present results at conferences, seminars and expert networks;
- cooperate with EU institutions, social partners and other stakeholders.
Project and contract management:
- plan and coordinate research projects;
- manage the implementation of activities, timelines and deliverables;
- participate in procurement procedures and the management of contracts with external partners.
Requirements for candidates:
Candidates should have:
- strong analytical and research skills;
- a good knowledge of European vocational education and training (VET) and skills policies;
- experience in both quantitative and qualitative research (mixed methods are an asset);
- ability to work in an international, project-based environment.
The position is aimed at professionals in the social sciences or related fields who wish to contribute to EU policy development and analysis.
